Trailways of New York has an opportunity for a Full-Time Staff Accountant at our corporate office in Hurley, NY. The preferred candidate is a seasoned Accounting professional who will assist with the daily operations of the Accounting team.
_ Your
Responsibilities: _
Preparing, analyzing and maintaining financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and work papers.
Preparing and reviewing monthly bank reconciliations and ensuring accuracy of financial data.
Communicating accurate financial information and meaningful variance analysis for actual results versus forecast and budget.
Collaborating with internal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
Assisting in the preparation and completion of annual audits.
Generating and presenting additional financial and analytical reports as needed.
Completing additional projects as assigned.
_ Your skills should include: _
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Proficiency in regulatory reporting standards and compliance.
Strong financial acumen and understanding of finance principles.
Concrete understanding of computerized accounting systems and electronic records management.
Exercising high ethical standards, confidentiality and professionalism.
_ Our preferred requirements: _
Associate Degree in Accounting or related field.
A minimum of 3 or more years of proven general ledger accounting experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel is required. Prior experience with NetSuite helpful, but not required.
A collaborative, hands-on style with colleagues at all levels.
